Process Monitoring and Improvement

XP is a very rigorous development method, but there is still much room for the team to continuously improve their implementation. Once the team understands the goals of XP, they can troubleshoot and be creative about how to do things better. In XP, we don't have to be afraid to try a new way to do things, since nothing is lifetime commitment. Because XP has productivity monitoring built-in, we will know if a new idea is working, and if it's not, quickly jettison it.
